Barrie-Springwater-Oro-Medonte Conservative Party candidate Doug Shipley says party's plan will be 'out over the next few weeks'

Friends, family and supporters gathered at 4 Alliance Boulevard in Barrie to celebrate the opening of Barrie-Springwater-Oro-Medonte Conservative Party candidate Doug Shipley’s office on Saturday afternoon.

“The campaign is right around the corner,” said Shipley. “We’re ready to go.”

While the writ hasn’t officially dropped yet signalling the start of campaigning, Shipley said it’s expected to happen sometime this weekend or next Sunday.

“We’re running already. We’ve been running for two months,” said Shipley, with a laugh. “We like to get the job done.”

Shipley said the full Conservative Party of Canada platform will be released over the next few weeks, although timing hasn’t yet been officially announced.

“Some pieces are already out, like our climate plan,” he said. “But, the whole plan will be coming out over the next few weeks.”
