This year’s Environment Award winner has safeguarded and preserved natural habitats in and around Orillia while uniting the community through volunteerism

Couchiching Conservancy is a longstanding non-profit organization devoted to conserving Orillia's natural environment.

Through its efforts, the organization strives to secure and preserve natural habitats and identify areas requiring special protection for plants and wildlife.

Since 1993, Couchiching Conservancy has worked tirelessly to preserve the ecosystem of over 14,000 acres of land, in and around Orillia.

Their goals extend beyond conservation; they strive to bring together the local community through volunteer opportunities, such as species at risk and trail maintenance initiatives.

The conservancy continues to works with a number of local partners across six municipalities around Lake Couchiching and Orillia to protect natural lands.

The Environment Award goes to a person or group that has had an important positive impact on our environment, both man-made and natural.

Congratulations to the team at Couchiching Conservancy!

This award is proudly sponsored by the Orillia Perch Festival.
