Another resident, essential caregiver test positive for COVID at Trillium Manor

During outbreak, 35 staff and residents have tested positive at Orillia LTC home and three residents have died

Two more COVID cases are being reported at Trillium Manor as of Wednesday night, according to County of Simcoe officials.

Another resident from the Oro-Medonte unit of the Orillia long-term care home tested positive on Jan. 18.

Also, one essential caregiver tested positive from swabbing at a local assessment centre on Jan. 17. This caregiver had not been into the home since Jan. 10.

Trillium Manor has been in a health unit-declared outbreak since Dec. 14. To date, 24 staff members and 11 residents have contracted the virus, which has been isolated to the Oro-Medonte unit of the home.

Six residents and 20 staff members have since recovered. Three residents have died.

On Jan. 16, vaccinations took place at the home for all residents who were willing.​

Trillium Manor is home to 104 residents total, and employs 180 staff members.​
