The Government of Ontario is making funding available for the COVID-19 Energy Assistance Program for Small Business (CEAP-SB), to support small business and charitable organization customers struggling to pay their energy bills as a result of the COVID-19 emergency.

CEAP-SB provides a one-time, on-bill credit to eligible customers to help them catch up on their energy bills and resume regular payments. The program is being delivered by electricity distributors, gas distributors and unit sub-meter providers (USMPs), in accordance with rules laid out by the Ontario Energy Board (OEB). Orillia Power will begin accepting applications for CEAP-SB starting August 31, 2020.

CEAP-SB eligibility criteria

Small commercial and charitable organization electricity customers are eligible for CEAP-SB if they have been directly impacted by COVID-19 and meet all of the eligibility criteria listed in the application, available on our website at www.orilliapower.ca/ceap-program.

CEAP-SB benefit amounts

Electricity customers may qualify for a one-time CEAP credit for electricity charges that are overdue on the date of their application for CEAP-SB, up to a maximum of $425.

The CEAP-SB credit can be higher for eligible electricity customers if their business is mainly heated by electricity. In that case, they may qualify for a one-time CEAP-SB credit for electricity charges that are overdue on the date of their application, up to a maximum of $850.

Applications for CEAP-SB will be accepted starting August 31, 2020, on a first-come, first-served basis until funding is exhausted. The CEAP-SB application form will be available on our website and upon request. Submitting an application does not guarantee eligibility.

Applications can be submitted in one of three ways: by email to [email protected], by mail to 360 West St. S., Orillia, ON, L3V 6J9 (delays due to COVID-19 will be the customer’s responsibility), or by depositing in our drop box at 360 West St. S.
