Collingwood school confirms positive COVID case

A cohort has been instructed to self-isolate as a result of the case; It's the seventh confirmed school-related case in Simcoe County

The Simcoe County District School Board has confirmed an individual from Admiral Collingwood Elementary School has tested positive for COVID-19. 

According to the school board a "class/cohort is required to self-isolate." 

Neither the school nor the board has confirmed whether the positive case was a student or staff member. 

There are currently three cases of COVID-19 confirmed at Simcoe County District School Board schools, including Admiral Elementary, Bear Creek Secondary School and Twin Lakes Secondary School. Classrooms have been closed at Admiral and Bear Creek. 

There are five confirmed school-related cases within Simcoe Muskoka District Catholic School Board facilities, and there are six classrooms closed. The schools include St. Paul's Catholic School (Alliston), St. John Vianney Catholic School (Barrie), St. Angela Merici Catholic School (Bradford), Sister Catherine Donnelly Catholic School (Barrie), and Father F.X. O'Reilly Catholic School (Tottenham).
