Doctors, nurses, support staff soldier on at OSMH (8 photos)

We salute those on the front-lines at Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital who are working hard 24/7 in the face of a global pandemic

Editor's note: OrilliaMatters is partnering with Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital (OSMH) Foundation to pay tribute to the front-line 'soldiers' who are going above and beyond the call of duty inside Orillia's hospital in what is expected to be a protracted battle against the COVID-19 global pandemic. We will endeavour to publish this every Friday until the pandemic passes.

Working at home is not an option for the front-line staff working hard to ensure the community's safety and well-being every day and throughout this pandemic.

The staff at Soldiers' is the community's last line of defence against COVID-19.

This week has been a tough week at the hospital, where an Orillia woman in her 70s died as a result of the coronavirus. There are three other lab-confirmed cases of the virus in Orillia. All three are at home, self-isolating.

Staff have been working around the clock to ensure they are ready to treat patients with compassion and vigour.

These images depict the dedication of our local health-care workers who are committed to leading the charge against COVID-19 in our community. We applaud their bravery and selflessness in the midst of this global crisis.
