Four new staff COVID-19 cases reported at Trillium Manor

Since yesterday’s update, Trillium Manor in Orillia is reporting four new COVID-19 cases, all in staff members.

All four staff members work on the affected Oro-Medonte unit at the Orillia long-term care home.

Overall, the home has reported eight​ positive resident cases and 18 positive staff cases, according to County of Simcoe officials.

Of the eight resident cases, five have been resolved. One resident died on Dec. 24.

Of the 18 total staff cases, seven have been resolved.

Facility-wide resident testing will again take place today.

All residents on the Oro-Medonte unit remain in isolation under droplet contact precautions and are receiving in-room tray service for their meals until further direction from the health unit. All other resident units remain in quarantine only.

Trillium Manor is home to 114 residents total, and employs 180 staff members.
