The Divorce Centre, at 33 Front St. N., announces that it will be fully operational again as of June 1 with an innovative new body temperature scanning system which quickly identifies any staff member or client who has an elevated temperature.

This first-of-a-kind technology in Orillia will help identify people with possible COVID-19 and other flu infections before being allowed to enter the business premises.

The same innovative technology will be used at Creative Nomad Studios, currently under construction downtown at 23 Mississaga St. W. to help protect the health of our entrepreneurs, artists and social groups using this exciting new community facility.

The new body scanning system was developed locally by Provix Inc., based just south of Barrie in New Lowell, with offices in Sudbury. Provix has been in the thermal scanning business for 20 years, primarily in the industrial and mining sectors.

Upon the COVID-19 outbreak, Dave Winfield of Provix quickly realized that their technology could be used to detect elevated body temperatures in many retail and public environments. He immediately developed a small plug-and-play thermal scanner system for commercial use.

Provix Inc. is also helping out locally, offering to Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital a donation of ear guards for the front-line health-care workers, and access to their 3D printer.

The Divorce Centre and Creative Nomad Studios are proud to support a local Ontario technology innovator like Provix, and look forward to offering improved personal health security for our friends, neighbours and clients during these challenging times.
