Orillia Power wants residents to know that, while it is taking action to protect its staff from COVID-19, it is otherwise “business as usual.”

The utility’s offices are closed to the public, but it continues to undertake all necessary work.

Orillia Power split its distribution staff into two crews to minimize contact among workers.

Management is also conducting its meetings over the phone.

“We need to give the service we’ve always given to residents while, at the same time, ensuring the safety of our crews,” said Colin Gray, manager of power generation.

A notice on the Orillia Power website states, “You can continue to pay your bill via lockbox (West St.), at the bank, and online. We cannot accept cash at this time. Move-in/move-out forms will continue to be processed online. Staff are still available to assist you. Please contact us at 705-326-7315.”
