The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has confirmed 86 new COVID cases since Friday, 83 of which are Simcoe County residents.
There is one new case in Oro-Medonte – a woman between 18 and 34 years old – that is still under investigation.
There is one case in Tay Township – a man between 35 and 44 years old – that is also under investigation.
There are 20 new confirmed cases in Barrie including two boys and a girl under 18 years old. The boys' cases are linked to close contact and the girl's case is under investigation. The other Barrie cases include two women and two men between 18 and 34 years old, two women and three men between 35 and 44 years old, two women and two men between 45 and 64 years old, and one woman and three men between 65 and 79 years old. The transmission sources reported include one congregate setting case linked to an outbreak that is outside of the region, six cases still under investigation, six close contact cases, and four community-acquired cases.
There are 13 new cases in Innisfil today, four of which are youth under 18 (all male). There are two women and four men between 18 and 34 years old and two men and one woman between 45 and 64 years old from Innisfil also included on the case list. There are six cases linked to close contact and the rest are under investigation.
Among those listed in today's report are two Clearview residents, one male and one female, both between 18 and 34 years old and both cases are under investigation.
There are 12 new cases in Bradford West Gwillimbury including a boy under 18 (close contact), two women between 18 and 34 years old (community-acquired), a man between 18 and 34 years old and a woman between 35 and 44 years old (under investigation), a man between 35 and 44 years old (case linked to workplace outbreak out of region), three men between 35 and 44 years old (two close contact, one under investigation), a man and a woman between 45 and 64 years old (close contact and under investigation), and a woman between 65 and 79 years old whose case is linked to close contact.
There are 14 new cases in New Tecumseth including two girls under 18, two women and a man between 18 and 34 years old, a woman and three men between 35 and 44 years old, two women and a man between 45 and 64 years old, and two women between 65 and 79 years old. Two cases are community-acquired, one is linked to close contact and the rest are still under investigation.
There are 16 new cases in Essa today including four youth under 18, two girls and two boys. One of the girls' cases is linked to a workplace outbreak. Two youth cases are connected to close contact and the fourth youth case is under investigation. The other cases in Essa include three women and two men between 18 and 34 years old, a man between 35 and 44 years old, two women and two men between 45 and 64 years old, and a man and a woman between 65 and 79 years old. One case (a man between 45 and 64 years old) is linked to an institutional outbreak out of the region, and one case, a woman between 18 and 34 years old, is linked to a workplace outbreak. The remaining case transmissions include eight close contact, and six under investigation.
The remaining Simcoe County cases include a Severn woman between 35 and 44 years old (community-acquired), a Severn man between 45 and 64 years old (under investigation), an Adjala-Tosorontio girl under 18 whose case is linked to an educational setting outbreak, and a Adjala-Tosorontio woman between 45 and 64 years old whose case is under investigation.
The health unit has also reported a Bracebridge close contact case – a woman between 45 and 64 years old – and a Huntsville close contact case – a woman between 18 and 34 years old.
The final case reported today is a woman between 45 and 64 years old whose transmission was linked to close contact, but whose residence information is still pending.
The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has reported a total of 1,720 cases of COVID-19, with 1,634 of those in Simcoe County. There are 1,449 cases listed as recovered in the region. Eight people are currently hospitalized, and of those seven are Simcoe County residents. The health unit has recorded 50 deaths.
The incidence rate for Simcoe County is 309 cases per 100,000 people.
