NEWS RELEASE
TOWNSHIP OF RAMARA
*****************************
Landscaping, property maintenance and lawn care businesses that are providing services strictly for the safety, security and/or sanitation purposes will be permitted to operate effective immediately.

This includes services such as lawn cutting, rolling, clearing yard and garden debris, and spraying in order to ensure that property standards are met and grass is maintained to help prevent weeds and ticks.

However, businesses are not permitted to conduct landscaping projects that are to beautify a property, or for aesthetics, such as planting shrubs or plants, building fences, decks, etc. Businesses with questions about the provincial list of essential businesses and services can continue to call the Province’s ‘Stop the Spread’ Business Information Line at 1-888-444-3659.

Residents are able to continue to conduct select property maintenance efforts on their own, but are asked to be mindful of compliance with the Ontario Building Code, municipal zoning by-laws and all relevant municipal and provincial regulations. As well, due to Township wide fire bans and the closure of some landfill facilities, residents are reminded that roadside littering will be penalized. For more information on open waste facility sites, please visit www.simcoe.ca/wastesites .

A reminder that under current provincial orders, all non-essential businesses are required to remain closed, outdoor amenities remain closed except for walk-through purposes, and public gatherings of more than five people are prohibited. Residents who are concerned with individuals or groups violating provincial emergency orders can report them by phone during business hours at 705-484-5374 or by e-mail outside and/or during business hours at [email protected].

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as the Township works to ensure the health and safety of the community. For more up-to-date information on the status of Township’s services, please visit COVID- 19 page on the Township’s website.
