I was reading your article on the school board possibly taking down our pride and joy ( the Canadian flag). I find the fact that the board is even considering this a possibility not only disrespectful, but a blatant disregard for everything out veterans have fought for and continue to do so.

How do I as a parent explain to my son that our national flag isn't as important as a "banner" that belongs to a organization? Or that our veterans only get one day but a group gets a whole month?

I personally have no issue with people being proud of who they are. And what has happened to that group of people prior is awful. But that does not mean you are entitled to have our national flag take down and have your banner put up.

I believe the school board needs to sincerely think twice before taking down our flag.
