We are very fortunate to be able to access a daily online community newspaper, perhaps particularly during these uncertain times when situations are changing so rapidly.

I think your reporting efforts are very much appreciated in our community, and I thank you for this service.

However there is a matter which has previously been brought forward which I feel needs to be addressed again. It is the publishing of comments without the author’s real name.

In the time of traditional newspapers, comments from the readership always had to be accompanied by a legitimate signature and such should be the same for present day.

It seems that often the more callous and ill-informed submissions come from an alias name, and this certainly detracts from the integrity of your publication.

I for one would be very pleased to increase my financial support of OrilliaMatters if your “Comments” section were to be restricted to genuine signatures only.
