I walk Orillia’s trails and have recently purchased an e-bike as well, which I also use on Orillia’s trails.

I am often passed whilst on my e-bike by cyclists with no power-assist other than leg power. I have been passed by runners, too. Surely, the issue under discussion about cyclists, pedestrians, joggers/runners and e-bikes sharing Orillia’s trails is not merely a matter of regulation, or non-regulation, of one of the four usage groups, but is, instead, a matter of trail etiquette and simple courtesy.

Yes, bells should be used, and if not carried (for example, by joggers), perhaps verbal warnings of overtaking would be useful. What we do not need is more regulation, just application of principles of courtesy.
