Controlling wages is regularly in news. Our political and business leaders prefer it that way.

Why?

Because it diverts public attention from a very real problem they are not acting on — price controls. How can they justify small wage raises while they let their big business buddies raise prices astronomically? They can't, so they divert public attention by railing against wage increases.

Contrary to what they purport, high prices necessitate high wage increases — not the opposite. It is horrifying that $40 per hour is not an adequate wage with current pricing levels and that is a fact. Our leaders know this.

Skyrocketing prices are no accident and that is what is most frustrating. Don't buy their excuses. Demand they bring prices in line with wages. It is called an affordable economy. That is a right in Canada not a gift from the rich and powerful.
