LETTER: If another lockdown is needed, rules need to change, reader says

If there's another widespread lockdown, close bars, leave fitness centres open, resident suggests

If another lockdown is necessary:

  • Bars should close. Alcohol and drugs lower inhibitions. People under the influence are lax at distancing and contact avoidance.
  • Schools should never have opened as statistics now show parents are getting COVID from their children in large numbers.
  • Fitness centres should remain open. People attending are doing so to maintain health and are more responsible than most and maintain distancing and follow health protocols.
