(On Saturday) morning my friend and I attended a community-wide yard sale at Big Cedar Estates. Arriving, there was no room in the parking lot so I and about 30 other vehicles parked on 13th Line. Others were already parked on Bass Lake Sideroad.

The 13th Line ends at Bass Lake, on the back side. There is a sign that says Permit Parking Only, but as this was a seniors fundraising event, everyone parked along the road.

Suddenly a bylaw officer arrived and ticketed all the vehicles parked on 13th Line, including my own. These fines are $60 each.

When the seniors found out they were very upset and appalled. They said this event has been running for 35 years and the event has never been ticketed.

Shame on Oro-Medonte Township. Shame on the bylaw officer.

People were supporting a seniors community fundraising yard sale. A one-day event.

I understand the law, but they couldn't look the other way for a few hours? They had to send out an officer?

There wasn't an issue. No road was blocked.

How much money did the township earn from playing "dirty pool?"
