OrilliaMatters welcome letters to the editor at [email protected] or via the website. Please include your full name, daytime phone number and address (for verification of authorship, not publication). The following letter, an open letter to Mayor Basil Clarke and Ramara Township Council, is in response to our article, 'Boggles my mind': Ramara resident rocked by proposed quarry,' published Feb. 19.

As a Ramara resident I say: please NO to any more quarries. We are already surrounded by them.

Soon, Ramara will be one big hole in the ground. Forget cottagers, forget tourism, forget quality of life of residents — just huge trucks chopping up roads, dust, noise, and gargantuan pits.

So, no variances. Rules were made for a reason, and no more quarries!
