LETTER: Former DOMB chair 'disturbed by negative responses' about patio decision

OrilliaMatters welcomes letters to the editor at [email protected]. The following letters are in response to a letter regarding the scaling back of the See You on the Patio program, published April 15.

I was quite disturbed by the negative responses to the Downtown Orillia Management Board‘s (DOMB) decision on the See you on the Patio event. The general population of Orillia do not know or some may have forgotten the budget restraints the DOMB works under, and that budget is supported almost totally by a substantial tax levy on all the businesses in the DOMB area.

Perhaps a better approach might be to contact the board and ask for some explanations of their decision.

It is not an easy task to make everyone happy, however I know for a fact that this board does its very best to please the majority of the people especially the ones visiting and supporting the Orillia downtown area.

Maybe with more support from the citizens of Orillia the DOMB would be able to please even more people.
