“Thank you to all those who have contributed their time and money to the 17th annual County of Simcoe Paramedic Services Toy Drive,” said Warden George Cornell. “Thanks to the generosity of Simcoe County residents and the amazing efforts of our Paramedics who volunteered their time to make the Toy Drive possible, hundreds more families will experience joy and holiday cheer across our region this year.”

With this year’s totals, the Toy Drive has collected 84,265 toys, 37,180 lbs of food, and approximately $172,257 in monetary and gift card donations for families across Simcoe County over the last 17 years.

“I am extremely proud of our County of Simcoe Paramedics, their families and friends, and the students from the Paramedic programs at Georgian College and CTS Canadian Career College, who volunteered more than 1,000 hours to make this year’s campaign such a success,” said Andrew Robert, Director and Chief, County of Simcoe Paramedic Services. “Thanks to their efforts and our incredibly generous community, this will be a Christmas to remember for many more local children and families.”

All Toy Drive donations are distributed to local children and families in need by charitable organizations working in partnership with County of Simcoe Paramedic Services.

Charities supported by the County of Simcoe Paramedic Services Toy Drive include the Salvation Army, Wasaga Beach Kinettes, Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions, Barrie Christmas Cheer, a number of local food banks and Innisfil Community Church. County of Simcoe is composed of sixteen member municipalities and provides crucial public services to County residents in addition to providing paramedic and social services to the separated cities of Barrie and Orillia.
