A Village Media journalist was on TV in Barrie recently to discuss the changing media landscape in this area and across the country.

Nathan Taylor, regional reporter for OrilliaMatters and BarrieToday, was a guest on Rogers Viewpoint. He was joined by J.T. McVeigh, former editor and reporter at the Collingwood Enterprise-Bulletin. Taylor and McVeigh were colleagues until November 2017, when Torstar acquired and promptly closed Postmedia’s five newspapers in Simcoe County: the Barrie Examiner, Orillia Packet & Times, Bradford Times, Collingwood Enterprise-Bulletin and Innisfil Examiner. Taylor was the regional editor for those five publications.

Taylor and McVeigh were interviewed by host Leeann Pendleton. The wide-ranging discussion included a focus on OrilliaMatters and the increasing presence of online journalism.
