Six months ago, Lily Robbins, 7, and Matthew Robbins, 8, decided to create a Kindness Jar.

They, along with their mom Carley, sat down and wrote out various acts of kindness that they could do together; each kindness act earned them a reward of money that they collected in their jar.

Once their jar was filled, Lily and Matthew decided to pay it forward. They were able to purchase a fantastic cat tree, two bottles of cleanser, paper towels, a cat toy and leash, kitty litter and much needed canned cat food for The Comfie Cat Shelter.

“We are honoured and very grateful to be the recipient of such amazing efforts and generosity by two such giving youths,” said shelter officials.

The Comfie Cat Shelter is a no-kill shelter, 100 per cent volunteer run, not-for profit, located at 112 Norweld Drive, Orillia. Please visit our Facebook page @TheComfieCatShelter or our website or contact us by email [email protected] or by phone 705-326-1545 to learn more about our shelter, our wonderful felines for adoption, or how you can volunteer.
