MPP Dunlop, in partnership with MP Chambers, is thrilled to announce the much-anticipated annual Seniors Day Event, dedicated to celebrating our beloved ‘seenagers.’

This day-long event, scheduled for April 26 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Best Western Mariposa in Orillia, promises an interactive and engaging experience for seniors in our community where all gather to honour our senior community members who embody the spirit of ‘seenagers’ — a term both MPP Dunlop and MP Chambers use out of respect and admiration for those who embrace an active lifestyle, a youthful attitude, and a keen interest in the latest activities and trends.

“Seenagers are trailblazers, refusing to conform to outdated stereotypes associated with aging, and instead, they inspire us with their vitality and passion for life,” said MPP Dunlop.

“This day is an opportunity to celebrate seniors in our community and discuss issues affecting the fastest-growing age group in our country,” said MP Chambers.

The event will feature an array of speakers and vendors tailored to acknowledge our seniors’ contributions and enrich their lives. Attendees can look forward to enlightening guest speakers including the Hon. Raymond Cho, minister of seniors and accessibility, who is always a crowd pleaser and promises to entertain while sharing valuable insights and stories. There will also be a vibrant dedicated room showcasing various vendors offering products and services designed to enhance seniors’ well-being and quality of life. Another highlight of the day is a complimentary lunch, allowing seniors to socialize and enjoy delicious food in a welcoming atmosphere.

This event is a wonderful opportunity for seniors to connect with each other, discover new resources, and celebrate the wisdom and vitality they bring to our community.

MPP Dunlop expressed her excitement about organizing this event alongside MP Chambers, stating, “Our seniors are a treasure trove of wisdom, experience, and resilience. It’s crucial to recognize and celebrate their contributions to our communities,” she said. “The annual Seniors Day event is our way of expressing gratitude and ensuring that our seniors feel valued and supported.”

The event is free with no registration required and will adhere to all safety guidelines, accessibility, and protocols to ensure a comfortable and secure experience for all attendees.
