CITY OF ORILLIA

As recommended by the Downtown Orillia Management Board, the City of Orillia is returning to regular paid parking in municipal pay and display parking lots when the province enters Step 1 of the Roadmap to Reopen, effective June 11, 2021.
“Throughout the pandemic, the City of Orillia has adapted services and provided various community assistance measures including free parking within the downtown to assist local businesses,” said Mayor Steve Clarke.
“In consultation with the Downtown Orillia Management Board, the City will be returning to paid parking in all municipal pay and display lots. This will assist with availability and regular turnover of parking spaces in the downtown as more businesses reopen and we begin to see more traffic in the downtown.”
Customers can pay and manage their parking sessions using the City’s mobile parking application Passport Parking.
“We are looking forward to Step 1 and welcome the return to more normal business. Paid parking will allow the City of Orillia to manage the increased traffic downtown and ensure our customers are able to easily find a parking space near their favourite downtown retailer, art gallery and restaurant,” said Michael Knight, Chair of the Downtown Orillia Management Board. “We’d like to thank the City of Orillia for its support of the downtown businesses and its management of the parking lots over the past eight months.”
Free parking was implemented by the City of Orillia throughout various stages of the COVID-19 pandemic to assist residents and businesses and has been available for pay and display lots since October 2020.
