Residents at the Atrium Retirement Residence are enjoying a week of “Love is in the Air.”

Part of their special week was the Valentine’s Day fundraising tea event held on Feb. 14 at the home. The residents chose to support the Alzheimer’s Society and raised $400 from their event.

“This is such a happy home, full of love and kindness,” declared Arlene Walsh, an attendee at the event. “We were so happy to join the Atrium residents to help fundraise for such a great cause.”

“The residents are always looking for ways to give back to their community and this month provided a perfect opportunity with our Valentine’s Day tea,” said Laurie Brewer, Atrium’s sales and marketing manager. “We are very pleased to be able to donate to the Alzheimer’s Society. It is a wonderful organization that helps many seniors and families dealing with Alzheimer’s.”

Atrium’s fundraising event was open to the public, Atrium residents and their families. There were over 35 people in attendance at the Valentine’s Day tea, enjoying sweets and goodies while being serenaded by a musical duo playing the piano and cello.
