Attempted murder charges laid in 2017 Barrie shooting investigation

Investigators with the Barrie Police Homicide Unit have arrested and charged 26-year-old Jahmyle Johnson of Toronto, with attempted murder and robbery following a home invasion.

On Monday, April 10, 2017, police responded to a shooting on Gunn Street, in the City of Barrie. When police arrived they located a victim and quickly learned that an altercation had taken place between the victim and the suspect.

Two suspects had broken into the victims home just before 11 a.m., and as a result of the altercation the victim was shot. Both suspects fled the area in a vehicle and the 60-year-old victim was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

The accused appeared in a bail court, in Barrie, on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, and was remanded.
