Are you ready to make your biggest goal a reality? Georgian College’s Henry Bernick Entrepreneurship Centre (HBEC) and Creative Nomad Studios, in partnership with the City of Orillia, will host author and leadership coach Julie Ellis for the next instalment of the XcelerateHER Orillia interactive workshop series on May 18.

Ellis will share her experiences growing a mom-inspired basement start-up company into an international sensation, eventually being acquired by a giant in her industry. She’ll tell entertaining stories, explore lessons learned, and offer practical strategies to inspire you to strive for greatness and view obstacles as opportunities.

The workshop is based on her debut book, Big Gorgeous Goals: How Bold Women Achieve Great Things.

“XcelerateHER Orillia is helping to address gaps in entrepreneurial support and resources and providing local women with education and inspiration to improve their business pitch, develop growth plans, tap into industry mentors and build partnerships,” said Sara Bentham, executive director, HBEC. “We’re excited to welcome Julie as our next guest and continue to build a network of women entrepreneurs in our region who can learn together and grow.”

Space for the workshop is limited. Register for the free event online.

The XcelerateHER program, developed by HBEC in partnership with Sandbox Centre Barrie, Small Business Enterprise Centre for Barrie, Simcoe County and Orillia, and Innisfil Accelerates, has been delivered in communities across Ontario, supporting female entrepreneurs through a four-pronged approach: skills development, networking opportunities, workshops and success stories. This program features peer groups, mentorship and support.

For more information about the program, contact the City of Orillia’s business development, tourism and modernization division at [email protected] or 705-325-4900, or Creative Nomad Studios at [email protected].
