There are only a few days left until Wednesday, Nov. 16, when the 2022 Carmichael Art History Lecture fundraiser for the Orillia Museum of Art and History (OMSH) will be held via Zoom.

Don’t miss it.

Register today for a chance to win the book, Jackson’s Wars: A.Y. Jackson, the Birth of the Group of Seven and the Great War, by the award-winning author and our guest speaker, Douglas Hunter.

Hunter will give a captivating account of the many wars A.Y. Jackson fought on and off the battlefields of Europe, with critics, collectors, public galleries, and fellow artists, as he became one of the best-known Canadian artists of the 20th century.

This includes the time before he cast his lot with a group of like-minded Toronto artists, the Group of Seven, when Jackson was an artist with a growing international reputation, as well as a soldier and a war artist.

Funds from this year’s event will be used to purchase much-needed equipment and supplies for the Dorothy Macdonald Creative Studio, including easels, paint brushes, paints and art tables. We are grateful for your ongoing support and generosity.

Online access is only $10 per person, payable through the registration link (www.orilliamuseum.org/4), by credit card over the phone (705-326-2159) or by cash, debit or credit card in person at OMAH from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday to Saturday. Or email [email protected].
