'Bach Meets Bacharach' concert will aid Information Orillia

The Oct. 22 concert features Orillia Concert Band, Orillia Big Band, both under direction of Randy Hoover, along with local singer Autumn Debassige

ORILLIA CONCERT BAND

On Oct. 22, the Orillia Concert Band and the Orillia Big Band, both under the direction of Randy Hoover, are excited to present a fundraising concert for Information Orillia entitled "Bach meets Bacharach." Joining both bands is singer Autumn Debassige, who grew up in Orillia.

The concert is at 7:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Centre in Orillia and admission is via a goodwill offering collected for Information Orillia to support the important work they do for the community in Orillia. The minimum suggested donation is $15 per person. 

Only cash or cheque donations can be accepted at the concert, however you may make an online donation in advance of the concert at Information Orillia's “Donate Now Webpage”. Please type 'OCB' in the private message box to associate your donation with this concert. Proof of online donation is not required for admission if you choose to donate online in advance; we will take your word for it! Your generous support of this worthy organization is requested.

Thanks to our season sponsor, Steve Orr of Dapper Depot, and a grant from the Community Foundation of Orillia and Area covering the costs, all the proceeds from this concert will go to Information Orillia.

The concert will consist of a set from each band, with a brief intermission in between bands. The planned program is:

Orillia Concert Band:

  •   Ukrainian National Anthem 
  •   Prelude and Fugue in Bb
  •   Atherton Overture 
  •   You Raise Me Up (with Autumn Debassige)
  •   March of the Belgian Paratroopers
  •   Ammerland
  •   String of Pearls

Intermission
Orillia Big Band:

  •   Days of Wine and Roses
  •   Georgia On My Mind (with Autumn Debassige)
  •   Girl From Impanema
  •   Here, There and Everywhere
  •   The Look of Love (with Autumn Debassige)
  •   Take the “A” Train

For this concert the wearing of masks is strongly recommended to protect the more vulnerable demographic who typically attend these events. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
