NEWS RELEASE
CANADIAN BLOOD SERVICES
*************************
You may have heard in recent weeks a “call to arms” urging 35,000 + Canadians to step up and answer the call to donate blood to help replenish our extremely low inventories.

We thankfully had a strong response to this call and many Canadians came through for patients. Since the need is constant, we still need more Canadians to donate blood to ensure a consistent and steady supply of blood products for patients.

The Orillia Community Blood Donor Clinic will take place on Thursday, April 12 from 2 - 7 p.m. at the Mariposa Inn Heritage Ballroom, 400 Memorial Ave.

Did you know?

  • Less than 4 per cent of eligible donors give blood each year
  • Given its short shelf life, the need for blood is constant

Remember that developing a habit of including blood donation in your routine is one of the most direct ways you can help someone. Everyone can get involved.  People who cannot donate blood can encourage others to donate on their behalf, or use social media platforms to spread the message. This is a huge help to us!

Making an appointment to donate has never been easier. Visit blood.ca, download our GiveBlood app or call 1-888-2-DONATE and find a nearby donation site. Walk in appointments are also available at all locations.

Thank you for your generous support, as always!
