Dear Braveheart –  a Caregiver’s Loving Journey through Alzheimer’s Dementia is a brave new memoir that offers helpful hints, chuckles and a few tears.

Bracebridge author Sheridan Rondeau has spent years putting this book together. Personal letters share the anguish of caring for a loved one whose personal motor, mental and management abilities are impacted by this terminal illness.

For Rondeau, being able to share experiences and learn how other people managed was essential.

"The Alzheimer's Society support group was an anchor for all of us," she says, adding that the care the group put into the seminars and workshops proved invaluable.

A proud member of the Baysville Writing Group since 2015, Rondeau has been working on her memoir for years. After the death of her husband, who is the subject of Dear Braveheart, Rondeau felt bereft of everything.

"It's a hard circumstance to grow through, especially socially," the writer says.

Dear Braveheart is available from local bookstores, Amazon, Chapters/Indigo, and from Crossfield Publishing.

Now retired, Rondeau lives in Bracebridge, where she is a member of the Muskoka Authors Association and Baysville Writers’ Circle. She enjoys public speaking and has hosted several Tall Pines Tales author events in Muskoka and Haliburton. Dear Braveheart is her first book.
