Bracebridge woman a step closer to $250K OLG prize

Cheryl Amo subject to insider win review as she works for authorized OLG retailer

A Bracebridge woman is a month away from being $250,000 richer, barring additional claims to the prize.

Cheryl Amo scratched an Instant Sonic Multiplier ticket that revealed the big win, but because she works for an authorized OLG retailer, the claim is considered an insider win, even though she did not purchase or validate the ticket where she works.

OLG requires insider claims of $10,000 or more to be subject to “enhanced review and validation as well as a 30-day publication period prior to payment to ensure there are no additional claims on the winning ticket,” the agency noted in a news release.

Amo will get her money Nov. 24 if there are no further claims.

Her ticket was purchased at Circle K on Wellington Street in Bracebridge.
