NEWS RELEASE
DOWNTOWN ORILLIA
*************************
On Saturday, March 31, hundreds of children will scour the streets of downtown Orillia in search of colourful Easter eggs hidden during the Great Easter Egg Hunt, as part of this year’s Bring on Spring campaign in the downtown.

“Children 12 under are encouraged to come with their families to our beautiful downtown, hunt for colourful Easter eggs and find the golden egg to win a prize! Trade them in for chocolate from Apple Annie’s and have your picture taken with the Easter Bunny!" said Courtney Thompson, event and marketing director of the Downtown Orillia Management Board. “There will also be face painters at the Opera House, greeting children and painting their faces for free.”

Come to the Egg Exchange Station outside of the Orillia Opera House between 9:30 a.m. and noon to trade in your colourful eggs for delicious chocolate. Kids only need to find three eggs to receive the tasty treats.

Parents are reminded to please bring your own basket to collect the eggs and to join in the family treasure hunt at participating downtown businesses. Information regarding the treasure hunt will be provided at the Opera House beginning at 9:30 a.m.

The Downtown Orillia Great Easter Egg Hunt is an annual event hosted by more than 200 businesses in downtown Orillia. The event runs Saturday, March 31, from 9:30 a.m. to noon, rain or shine.
