After investigating a fire that destroyed a detached garage at 9 Hawthorne Place in Oro-Medonte Township at 12:59 on Monday afternoon, officials have deemed the cause of the fire as 'undetermined.'
Oro-Medonte Fire & Emergency Services acting deputy chief, Donny Adamson, says due to the damage of the detached garage a proper investigation was not possible.
"It wasn't structurally sound enough for us to do a full investigation on the building," he said.
"Our fire prevention officer investigated as much as she could, but it wasn't safe to have her in there."
Due to the loss of contents and structural damage involved in the fire, he estimates $200,000 worth of damages.
