Christmas music will abound at Orillia Concert Band events

On Dec. 7, band will perform with local kids and church choir at pair of Christmas concerts - one aimed at kids and young families

The Orillia Concert Band will be hosting two Christmas concerts on one day next month.

Sponsored by Forest Hill Orillia Real Estate and Dapper Depot Menswear, the band’s Afternoon Christmas Concert is designed to ignite the Christmas Spirit in children (young and old)! This concert is shorter and young family-friendly.

Come and listen to your Christmas favourites, take in some new Christmas songs and join us in Christmas carol sing-a-longs. Special guests: Samuel de Champlain Children's Choir. Santa will be visiting during the concert as well.

The Afternoon Christmas Concert is Dec. 7 from 3:30 to 5 p.m., at St. Paul's Centre, 62 Peter St. N., Orillia.

This is the program for the matinee:

Later that night, the Orillia Concert Band continues the annual tradition of kicking off the Christmas season with its Christmas Prelude concert, with special guests St. Paul's Chancel Choir under the direction of Blair Bailey. Not only will the choir and the band play a few pieces together, but this year we will be adding St. Paul’s powerful organ to the mix.

Sponsored by BMO Nesbitt Burns, and Dapper Depot Menswear, this concert features old classic Christmas tunes, new Christmas compositions plus Christmas carol sing-a-longs!

The "Christmas Prelude" concert is also at St. Paul's Centre and goes from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
