The City of Orillia's parks, recreation and culture department will be hosting the grand opening of its Seniors at Play program in the Orillia Room at Rotary Place on Friday, Oct. 18 from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Seniors at Play is an initiative funded by the New Horizons for Seniors Fund in order to facilitate the purchase of programming materials that allow municipalities to offer more seniors-focused programming within the community.
The grand opening will allow for members of the community to enjoy refreshments while enjoying demonstrations and various opportunities to try some of the activities offered at the Seniors at Play program.
This event will showcase many of the new programs put in place from this funding, such as shuffleboard, X-box fitness, pickup games, urban poling, fitness classes and more.
