There will be a free Orillia screening of Essential Noise Volume 1 at St. Paul's Centre that will be an exclusive director's cut with emphasis on Gordon Lightfoot's influence on the era. The film's director along with renowned Canada artist Charles Pachter will share stories from the era.

St. Paul’s hosting a documentary on the 1960s Yorkville music scene with Gordon Lightfoot.

On Wednesday, July 5, at St. Paul’s Centre there will be a free screening of the new documentary Essential Noise Volume 1 (the Gordon Lightfoot Cut), a film by Paul Koidis.

Essential Noise Volume 1 is a new and immersive film and music experience telling the story of the 1960s Toronto Yorkville music scene (the coffeehouse/folk era). 

The 70-minute film features new and bespoke interviews with Judy Collins, Robby Krieger of The Doors, John Kay of Steppenwolf, producer Bob Ezrin, Dan Hill, Serena Ryder, Sylvia Tyson, Alan Frew of Glass Tiger, Alan Cross, K-OS, UN Ambassador Bob Rae, and more.

The Orillia screening will be an exclusive director's cut with emphasis on Gordon Lightfoot's influence on the era. In attendance will be film director Paul Koidis and leading contemporary Canadian artist, Charles Pachter. Charles will be there with artwork and stories from the era.

Essential Noise Volume 1 just won a Gold Award for Best Documentary at the Bulgaria Film Festival (June, 2023).
