The Rescue Lake Simcoe Coalition is hosting a night of laughter, fun and entertainment with world renowned comedian, and star of the hit show Corner Gas, Brent Butt, headlining at the Orillia Opera House on May 4.

If that’s not enough, before the laughs, the Boathouse Blues Band is playing a set of blues favourites while guests mingle, shop, and learn. Glass artist Deb Brown will be on site selling her All Nations Water Protector jewelry. Greeting cards featuring local Lake Simcoe artwork will be sold by the coalition.

Long-time Lake Simcoe cottager Ed Evans is auctioning a collection of stunning artwork by Ron Bolt (including the image included above) in a silent auction to support the coalition. Guests will have time and space to learn about Lake Simcoe and the work of the Rescue Lake Simcoe Coalition.

The fundraising committee has done many different things to raise funds for the Rescue Lake Simcoe Coalition, but this is its most ambitious plan yet. “Hosting a big event like this helps us get in front of a new audience of fun people. With the support of our corporate sponsors, like Accessibility Professionals, we are aiming to raise about one quarter of the coalition’s annual budget,” says Executive Director Claire Malcolmson.

When: Wednesday, May 4, 2022. Doors at 6 p.m., performances start at 7 p.m.

Where: The Orillia Opera House, 1 West St. N. Orillia. Tickets are sold at the box office and on-line. Buy your tickets here
