Community Foundation hands out $35,750 in grants to local charities

Sharing Place, youth centre, OMAH among 17 organizations receiving funding 'to assist them in providing much-needed services to vulnerable residents'

COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF ORILLIA AND AREA

The Community Foundation of Orillia and Area (CFOA) has approved spring 2022 grants of $35,750 to local charities to assist them in providing much-needed services to vulnerable residents of Orillia and area.

Seventeen organizations will receive funds for activities, including:

  • $4,345.49 to the Sharing Place Food Centre for its School Fuel project
  • $2,950 to the Orillia Youth Centre for its Skateboard Lending Library and programming
  • $1,071.51 to the Orillia Museum of Art and History for accessibility and sensory upgrades

The CFOA’s investment portfolio has now surpassed $15 million and is comprised of a variety of funds. This spring, funds were granted from the Smart and Caring Communities Fund, the Ontario Endowment for Children and Youth in Recreation Fund, the Dale Family Fund, the Brian Adams Fund, the Jarvis Family Fund, and the John Galt Fund.

This year, the CFOA will grant over $415,000 to local charities.
