Creative Aging Books and Ideas is hosting a free, virtual Book Club event March 31.
Cece Scott Photo and Writing Services and Jen Tindall of Art Your Service will be hosting and chatting with the four-time winner of the Amnesty International Canada Media Award, Sally Armstrong.
Sometimes called “the war correspondent for the world’s women,” Armstrong, who holds 10 honourary doctorate degrees and is an officer of the Order of Canada, was the first journalist to bring the story of the women of Afghanistan to the world.
She is relentless when it comes to exposing the abuse of women, whether on an American university campus or in a village in a war zone.
Join hosts Jen Tindall and Cece Scott at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, as Armstrong reads from her book, Power Shift: The Longest Revolution, and speaks about how the status of the female half of humanity is crucial to our collective surviving and thriving.
After the readings Armstrong will chat with both the hosts and you, the audience.

At the next virtual event, on Thursday, April 28 at 2 p.m., Erin Davis will be the featured speaker.
Davis is CHFI’s long-time morning host and author of Mourning Has Broken: Love, Loss and Reclaiming Joy.
Her book is the story of her and her husband Rob’s journey of recovery after losing their only and beloved child, 24-year-old daughter Lauren, who died in her sleep of unknown causes in May 2015, one day after celebrating her first Mother’s Day.
