Crews make quick work of vehicle fire on Broadview Ave.

Blaze damaged two vehicles and a garage; no one was injured

Two vehicles and a garage were damaged in a fire Tuesday night on Broadview Avenue.

One person who called 9-1-1 reported hearing an explosion. When firefighters arrived at about 8:20 p.m., they found a pickup truck and a car engulfed in flames. The flames were also starting to get into the eaves of the attached garage at the home.

“When our crews got there, they jumped on it pretty quick and were able to extinguish the fire in the vehicles and garage,” said Steve Miller, Orillia’s deputy fire chief.

There were no injuries.

An estimated cost of the damage is not available.

While the fire seemed to have originated in one of the vehicles, it’s not known what caused it.
