Downtown Orillia just got a little more mystical (5 photos)

My Moon Collective, on Mississaga Street, is 'the modern-day mystic’s one-stop shop'

A new shop on Orillia’s main street is offering something for the mystic in everyone.

Kelsey Beesley recently relocated My Moon Collective to 169 Mississaga St. E., in the former Wilkie’s Bakery location.

She initially opened her shop March 14 inside The Holding Space yoga studio, and then non-essential businesses had to close their doors because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Beesley began offering delivery and, eventually, curbside pickup. Before long, she realized she needed to move the shop.

“The growth I experienced was incredible. I needed to move to a bigger space,” she said.

On Friday, she opened the doors at her new location.

Featuring everything from candles and crystals to jewelry and tarot cards, My Moon Collective is “the modern-day mystic’s one-stop shop,” Beesley said.

“I’ve always been into mystic types of stuff — astrology, crystals — but I always found (certain shops) didn’t resonate with me,” she said.

She wanted to open a shop that was “approachable” to those who are already into all things mystic as well as people who are just getting started.

“People get shy about tapping into this stuff, but something as simple as lighting a candle at night can bring so much intention into your life,” Beesley said. “I’m here to have a conversation with people. Come in and be curious. Don’t be scared to ask questions. I’m here to encourage curiosity.”

She features as much local product as possible, though most of the crystals come from around the world. She also sells tea from the Fifty Acre Garden in Oro-Medonte.

Beesley plans to eventually hold moon circles, when people will gather during a full moon, meditate and share what’s on their minds.

The business is open this long weekend. Its hours this Sunday and Monday are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Ater this weekend, My Moon Collective will be closed on Mondays and will be open Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
