ORILLIA LAWNBOWLING CLUB

The Orillia Lawnbowling Club was a busy place on Saturday as competitors from all over the region converged on the Commerce Road facility despite chilly temperatures and the feel of fall in the air.
Sixteen teams from Barrie, Collingwood, Midland, Oshawa, Port Perry and Orillia competed in the Open Pairs Tournament sponsored by Casino Rama – the last major tournament of the season.
Larry Brown of Orillia teamed up with Alice Matthews of Oshawa to win the competition, while Midland’s Cindy Higgins won dinner vouchers donated by Casino Rama.
In between the games, a lunch was enjoyed in the clubhouse by all those in attendance.
There will be one final fun tournament, slated for Sept. 22, that will wrap up the 2018 schedule.
The Orillia Lawnbowling Club is a friendly, non-profit club situated on Commerce Drive beside the Orillia Fire Department’s Station 2.
