Varsity

The Huronia Stallions Varsity team fell to 1-2 on the season following a hard fought 16-3 loss to the Etobicoke Eagles. The game was a closely fought defensive battle that saw the Stallions hold a slim 3-2 lead at halftime on the strength of a Jordan Travis field goal.

The Stallions were never able to put together any sustained drives on offence despite some solid running attempts by Justin Janicki. The Stallions defence once again put forth a tremendous effort that unfortunately was not enough to secure the victory.

The defence kept the Stallions in the game until a late Etobicoke touchdown after back to back Stallions turnovers deep in their own territory.  The team will look to rebound this Sunday on the road against the 2-1 Oakville Titans.

Junior Varsity

The Huronia Stallions Junior Varsity team lost 43-7 to the Etobicoke Eagles to drop to 0-3 on the season. The Stallions were led on offence by the solid play of receivers Lucas Janicki and Justin Gausby. Runningback Preston Howard had the lone Stallions touchdown on an impressive forty-yard touchdown run.

The Stallions were led on defence by the fine play of Defensive End Alex Linke and Linebacker Jonathan Harper. Linebacker Joe Piltzmaker had the top defensive highlight with an interception. The young and improving Stallions squad is on the road this Saturday and will be looking for their first win of the season against the 0-3 Brampton Bulldogs.

Bantam

The Huronia Stallions Bantam team had a bye week but picked up a victory nonetheless due to forfeit. The Stallions will look to improve to 4-0 on the season on the road this Sunday against the 1-2 Oakville Titans.
