The Easter bunny is getting ready to hop into town, and the Downtown Orillia Business Improvement Area (DOBIA) is thrilled to announce its upcoming Easter Event, scheduled for Saturday, March 30.
In collaboration with the Orillia Chamber of Commerce and the Orillia Farmers' Market, this egg-stravaganza promises to be an unforgettable celebration for families throughout the community.
Event Details:
- Date: Saturday, March 30, 2024
- Time: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Location: Downtown Orillia (Mississaga St. E. from Albert Street to Front Street)
- Starting Point: Designated tent in front of the Orillia Opera House,
The highlight of the event is the Great Egg Hunt, which will run from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. throughout downtown Orillia. Children will hop on to the Bunny Trail, collecting eggs found along the Main Street. Upon successfully gathering all six different coloured eggs, participants can make their way to the Farmers' Market and trade them in for their Bunny Bag of sweet treats. A bunny trail map will guide families through the downtown highlighting many deals and specials at the local merchants to stop in along the way.
In addition to the Egg Hunt, various activities await participants along the Downtown Bunny Trail:
- Meet and take photos with the Easter Bunny at the Orillia Farmers' Market.
- Explore a police cruiser and meet the OPP at Couchiching’s Brewery parking lot, courtesy of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
- Capture Instagram-worthy moments at the selfie station sponsored by Jack & Maddy’s.
- Enjoy face painting sponsored by the Orillia Chamber of Commerce at the Farmers Market.
- Delight in live shows at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. by Dr. Bonkers at the library, sponsored by Paper Planes Café.
- Meet Montie the alpaca and his sheep friends at Rustica, sponsored by Rustica.
- Engage in Easter themed STEAM activities at the library from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
