Expect road closures, delays during Boots and Hearts: OPP

Police are advising of road closures during the Boots and Hearts Music Festival.

Police are advising motorists to expect traffic delays in areas near Burl’s Creek in Oro-Medonte as a result of the Boots and Hearts Music Festival.

During the festival, which runs Thursday to Sunday, heavy traffic and temporary road closures are expected in areas including Highway 11, Line 7 South, Line 8 South, Line 9 South, Ridge Road East and Ridge Road West, Orillia OPP said in a news release.

Police ask drivers to follow temporary electronic signage, watch for pedestrians and be patient.

A designated pick-up and drop-off area can be accessed via Line 7 South. Single-day parking can be accessed via Line 9 South.

This year's popular country music festival kicks off with Tim Hicks tonight. On Friday, Nickelback is the headliner, while Keith Urban is the featured performer Saturday. The four-day event closes Sunday night with country superstar Tim McGraw.
