A new fundraising calendar features fearless women in Orillia who were nominated by community members. The sales of the calendars benefit a local non-profit organization that supports women.
The Fearless Females 2019 charity calendar is a fundraising initiative launched by Couchiching Jubilee House to raise funds and celebrate the incredible, strong, fierce and fearless women living right here in Orillia.
A volunteer firefighter, a Canadian world-champion hockey player, a Harley Davidson rider and a cancer survivor are just a few of the women featured. The calendar includes a brief bio on each and a quote on being fearless from the women who modelled.
All the photography was done by Greg Thomson, a local professional photographer who volunteered his time to do the project after seeing an ad at the gym for volunteers.
“Greg's photography is outstanding,” said Courtney Willis, the development coordinator for Couchiching Jubilee House. “He has beautifully captured each of these dynamic women and we are honoured that he, and all of our models, agreed to participate. What an inspiration these women are.”
If the fundraising initiative is successful, Jubilee House will run another round of nominations in 2019 for next year's calendar.
“I’ve already had women coming forward wanting to nominate for next year!” said Willis.
Calendars make a great stocking suffer and are available for sale for $25 each at the following locations:
