Funding will help Dress for Success reopen soon - safely

Funds will be used to keep our staff, volunteers and clients safe during the COVID-19 pandemic through the purchase of PPE

NEWS RELEASE
DRESS FOR SUCCESS ORILLIA AND BARRIE

Dress for Success Orillia and Barrie is happy to acknowledge the financial assistance of $5,000 that we've been granted by the Government of Canada's Emergency Community Support Fund and Community Foundations of Canada.

These funds will be used to keep our staff, volunteers and clients safe during the COVID-19 pandemic through the purchase of PPE, critical health and safety signage, pedestal sanitizers, a dishwasher and additional disposable PPE supplies. This is so we may safely reopen our office and clothing boutique and continue service supports for women in Orillia, Oro-Medonte, Severn and Rama.

As of Tuesday, Aug. 4, our office and clothing boutique will officially open to staff and limited volunteers. There will be less than 10 people in the office at once and we will continue physical distancing.

We will continue our virtual programming for the Pick and Pack Virtual Professional Clothing Assistance Program, Breakfast Club, and Professional Women's Group.

On Friday, Sept. 4, we will resume accepting clothing donations. We are developing COVID 19 protocols such as making appointments for clothing drop off, contact tracing forms and PPE enforcement.

We're very grateful for this financial assistance as it fills an urgent gap in our organization, ensuring the safety and protection of women now and for the foreseeable future.
