The Township of Oro-Medonte is home to some fantastic gourmet small batch producers offering delicious beer, wine and ciders, fresh farm meats, handcrafted cheeses, delectable desserts and much more. By supporting these producers, many of who use high quality local ingredients, you are reinvesting your money into the local economy when you choose to buy from them.
To help you enjoy the bounty of our township, we’ve rounded up some of our local producers. Sample, taste, discover and enjoy the township’s most wonderful foods! Start off with an tasty beverage, enjoy some cheesy appetizers then move on to the meaty main dish, followed by some sweet treats. Here are a few ideas to get you started!
Wine, beer and cider
Wine, beer and cider pair beautifully with the holidays. Try a tasty tipple from Quayle’s Brewery or Heritage Estate Winery & Cidery. Quayle’s menu offers something for any beer lover: choose from pilsners, IPAs, lagers, saison, coffee cream ale and more.
Heritage Estate was featured in LCBO’s Food & Drink magazine this year for its hand crafted and locally made cider and wines. All products are made on-site using no additives or preservatives. Try the Heirloom Apple Cider, Blueberry-Apple Sangria, semi-sweet Eden’s Apple Cider or Strawberry Eden’s Apple Cider. There’s no better way to toast to the holidays!
Gourmet cheese
Did you know that artisanal sheep's milk cheese is made right here in Oro-Medonte Township? European-style cheeses from Say Cheese are made using 100 per cent sheep's milk from their Oro-Medonte farm. Try their outstanding Vasey dill and garlic cheese, jalapeno sheep's milk cheese, or greek herbs cheese. Sample some feta cheese too. Ask about their famous olives stuffed with Vasey Feta. Soon you’ll be celebrating the holidays in style!
Succulent meats
Oro-Medonte’s rich farmland produces some fabulous farm-raised poultry, beef, pork and eggs. Whet your appetite with McNiven Farms’ apple sausage, peameal bacon, Octoberfest Farmer’s sausage, steaks, roasts or smoked pork loin chops.
Georgian Bay Meats offers blade roasts, tomahawk steaks, NY strip steaks, chicken and much more! Not sure which meat to try first? Ask about their popular mixed sampler boxes!
Sink your teeth into Integrated Farm’s 100 per cent grass fed & finished beef, pastured chickens, eggs or heritage/forested/pastured pork. These succulent locally produced meats are known to be of superb quality. They offer sampler meat boxes too!

Sweet treats
Artisanal Belgian chocolates are being carefully crafted at Chelsea Chocolates right here in Oro-Medonte. Delightful gourmet flavours are incorporated into the chocolates including VQA wine producers, mead, epicurean olive oils and balsamic vinegars. At Chelsea Chocolates, you can also order custom chocolates. They’re the perfect palate pleaser!
Maple syrup
The perfect stocking stuffer is right here in your own backyard. Oro-Medonte is blessed with an abundance of maple syrup producers. Contact to order from Elsie’s Creek Farm, Hutchinson Maple Syrup (ask about their maple butter and jams too), McCutcheon’s Maple Syrup (and honey), McNiven Farms, Shaw’s Maple Syrup & Catering, and Steamy Kettle Sugar Bush Hours and availability can vary, so be sure to check each website for shopping details!
