The City of Orillia and local police are looking for information after a building at Tudhope Park was vandalized recently with graffiti.

The familiar “Windigo” tag can be seen among the graffiti on the building beside the splash pad at Moose Beach.

The vandalism happened on the night of Dec. 30 and was reported to Orillia OPP on Dec. 31.

City officials said it will cost about $1,500 to have it removed.

Police suggest people who come across graffiti report it to the city’s bylaw officials or police.

“There is a protocol in place between bylaw and police to work together in solving these instances of vandalism. In the past we were able to link multiple acts of vandalism to one person,” said Orillia OPP Const. Martin Hill. “Police are always open to information on crimes and, as of right now, the investigation is open into any mischief.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
